Hexstride

Move to fight. Fight by moving.
Hexstride is a hex-grid tactical dungeon crawler where movement IS combat. You don't choose when to attack, your positioning and movement patterns trigger abilities automatically. Every step is a decision: approach to strike, retreat to shoot, or circle for area damage.
Choose your class:
- Fighter: Close-range brawler. Strike at melee range, leap across tiles, and pursue fleeing enemies.
- Ranger: Mid-range skirmisher. Shoot from distance, chase down retreating foes, and fall back when pressured.
- Mage: AoE specialist. Blast groups at close range, erupt the ground, and rain fire from movement patterns.
Each level has multiple objectives:
- Hunt monsters across procedurally generated terrain
- Navigate a maze filled with hidden chests
- Defend a diamond against waves of enemies
- Defeat the boss
- Survive a crumbling floor, tiles fall behind you, and getting caught deals heavy damage
Complete all objectives to advance deeper. Between levels, visit the Hub to repair and craft equipment at the Workbench. Find loot, manage durability, and gear up for the next floor.
Every run is different, procedural generation creates unique landscapes, enemy placements, and maze layouts each time.
Early development, what's here now:
- Movement-based combat with 3 classes and unique ability triggers
- 5 objective types across procedurally generated levels
- Equipment loot, durability, and crafting/repair at the Workbench
- Playable in-browser, on desktop, and on Android
What's coming:
- Alchemy station: potions and consumables
- Lectern: skill upgrades and study
- Relic station
- More enemies, bosses, and level variety

Found an interesting aesthetic bug on Android 16:
Otherwise it's an interesting game but I would appreciate a farther camera angle to better see the battlefield and more easily plan tactics.
I have some screenshots of the buttons overlapping the tutorial text in the starting popups but can't seem to get them to upload here...
Saw you advertise this game in the roguelike reddit. It is an interesting concept, but I think you need to rework the gameplay so that it is a bit tighter.
Hey, thanks for giving it a try and for the video! I left a detailed comment on the YouTube video with all the feedback I took from your playthrough. Really appreciate it!
Very nice concept, fun to play once you learn the mechanics of the game, found one bug, glitch, using Firefox if you click on a part of the map you can't see the full path to and it triggers movement, you can get stuck, and bounce between the same two spaces, with no way to stop it, and have to refresh. Once you crash, it's difficult to get the game back. Having difficulty repeating the glitch..might just be an environmental specific glitch.
Seemed to have crashed when I clicked on a blue diamond shaped object, It might be that once used the big blue Diamond and it spawns mobs, if you click it again the result is a crash. I am not 100% sure.
Yes this one is fixed just now ;).
Thank you.. You have a good game here..
Thanks! I have a feedback form on the top of the page if you want to give any type of feedback :)
Thanks for the feedback!
Mmm I'll try to reproduce it or find what it could be causing this. As it did not crash I don't have a trace of what it could be hehe.
I can't recreate it myself...and I have tried, as the spot I clicked on was where you could only see a few squares on the right side of the screen, you can't see the entire path used to get to the spot. Not being able to get back into the game had nothing to do with the game. Total user error, sorry, I do so like this game..
I think I did found it, or at least this is what I think haha. Not pushed yet but soon
